EXPERT INSTRUCTORS AT THE WORLD CLASS BOOT COFFEE CAMPUS will help you earn the SPECIALTY COFFEE ASSOCIATION (SCA)  Coffee Skills Diploma with training in the following modules:

SCA Coffee Skills Program courses provide the hands-on experience and knowledge you need to pursue a successful career in the specialty coffee industry. The Coffee Skills Program (CSP) allows you to choose the education path that suits your interests and needs. The program consists of six different modules: Introduction to Coffee, which is available at one level, and five specialist modules; Barista Skills, Brewing, Green Coffee, Roasting and Sensory Skills,

Each of the specialist modules is available at three different levels – Foundations, Intermediate, and Professional. You earn points for completing each stage. You choose the modules that fit your interests and needs. and once you have achieved 100 points, you will be awarded the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma.

As you complete a level for a given module, you earn points towards the 100 points required for your coffee skills diploma.

Introduction to Coffee: 10 Points

This intensive day of coffee education is a comprehensive overview of coffee’s supply chain; from the seed to the brewed cup and is the back. This is a SCA Coffee Skills Program course and is the most comprehensive 1-day course one can take in the industry. In Introduction to Coffee student gain an understanding of specialty coffee, learn about brewing, develop a common verbal and sensory vocabulary that forms the backbone of the Roaster, Green Coffee, Coffee Sensory, Brewing, and Barista Coffee Skills Programs.

Foundations Level: 5 Points

The Foundation level is the perfect one-day introduction to a professional module and requires no previous experience.

Intermediate Level: 10 Points

Are you already working in the industry or are you committed to pursuing a career in roasting, sensory, barista, brewing, or green coffee? Have you completed the Foundations Level and do you have a firm knowledge of the basic skills? The Intermediate Level comprises 2 days of course work and hands-on practice and concludes with a final day of practical and written exams.

Professional Level: 25 Points

Are you committed to the industry and do you desire specialist knowledge at the high level in your subject presented by the industry’s top trainers at Boot Coffee Campus? Graduates of the Professional level will indicate to employers your commitment and competence to work in the field. Relevant experience is recommended for students registering at this level and completion of the intermediate level in the module is a prerequisite to undertaking professional level. Courses at this level take a minimum of 3 days with a 4th day dedicated to practical and written exams.

Willem Boot and lead trainer Marcus Young personally share their extensive knowledge from the intricate design of roasting profiles to roasting techniques of truly exotic coffees like Willem’s award winning Geisha. Boot Coffee Campus SCA Coffee Skills courses provide solid hands-on training on a variety of equipment and offer many opportunities to roast, taste and evaluate coffees, brew exceptional coffee, develop sensory skills, and understand coffee contracts and processing. There is plenty of time for one-one-one interaction with the trainers who have more than 30 years of combined expertise and multiple industry certifications.

In addition to the course fees charged by Boot Coffee Campus,  the SCA charges a fee for administering the diploma program and awarding the certificates for each module; however, course fees for SCA Coffee Skills Program Courses from Boot Coffee now include the practical and written examinations as part of your registration.

If you plan to track your credits with SCA, you can pay at registration. Boot Coffee Campus students pay 1/2 of the SCA standard rate.
