The focus on coffee quality is not only a sign that consumers desire better products. There is also growing awareness about the social and environmental aspects of coffee.
For coffee producers it is extremely important to stay on top of these new trends. Boot Coffee Consulting has extensive experience in the organization and coordination of international development programs for coffee producing countries. Typically, we collaborate with the national (specialty) coffee association(s), cooperatives and exporters to raise quality standards and design a comprehensive strategy to improve quality throughout the supply chain.

NGOs & Governments

[fusion_dropcap]O[/fusion_dropcap]ver the years we have been actively involved in a range of development projects in Honduras, Panama, Ethiopia, El Salvador and Puerto Rico. In Honduras we had the opportunity to train a large group of professional cuppers in the fundamental protocols of specialty cupping techniques.
With the coffee board of El Salvador we organized a series of export promotion tours for visiting roasting companies and as a result we introduced more than 200 roasters from around the world to this unique coffee country.
Ethiopia has been an important origin for our development programs. As a sub-contractor for USAID we actively worked with the coffee industry to promote Ethiopian coffee worldwide. We created a specialized “coffee buying manual” to support the export promotion efforts and we researched current and future export strategies.
In Puerto Rico we executed a comprehensive survey of the specialty coffee producing industry and we analyzed weather data, soil compositions, varieties and flavor profiles of more than 150 producers on the island.

Our goal is to produce high quality coffee and long lasting direct-trade relationships.

The programs we have put in place around the world share two key objectives:
One– implement and initiate quality improvement programs with farmers, producers and exporters by putting our unique coffee know-how to work.
Two – create direct connections between coffee producers and roasters by organizing educational programs for roasters in countries like Panama, Honduras and Ethiopia.
