Day 1: Get Fired Up!

Welcome and orientation.
We’ll introduce the workshop goals, set expectations, and align everyone’s vision for the week. You’ll also connect with fellow roasters, laying the groundwork for collaboration.
Roasting calibration and equipment familiarization.
Whether you’re working with different roast machines or fine-tuning your technique, this hands-on session will ensure consistency and confidence in your approach.
Day 2: build the best single origin profile

Strategy session – how to develop the best roast profile for single-origin coffees. We’ll explore strategies to highlight sweetness, acidity, and body in different coffee varieties. Expect live roasting demonstrations and guided tastings.
Blending strategy session and Q&A.
Discover how to balance flavors in an espresso or filter coffee blend. You’ll then put your knowledge into practice, roasting blend components for your custom creations.

Taste and evaluate single-origin
profiles developed on Day 2. We’ll analyze various extraction methods and discuss real-world customer preferences.
Wet blending session.
Learn how to combine different roast components to create a well-balanced blend. By the end of the day, you’ll have a fully developed coffee blend ready for testing.
Day 4: Stand out! Innovate and "weird" roast profiles

Discuss and taste developed blends,
refining them for optimal balance. Then, dive into alternative roasting techniques. Learn about double roasting, extended Maillard phases, and experimental profiles that could lead to unique, marketable products. Bring your own crazy ideas!
Experiment with alternative roasting methods
in real-time. Compare results and discuss how these techniques can shape your super unique coffee portfolio.
Day 5: Showcase & Celebrate Your Success!

Final tasting and analysis. You’ll brew and taste your experimental roasts and blends, preparing them for real-world feedback.
