Willem roasted his first batch of coffee at the age of 14. After obtaining a masters-degree in business economics he co-owned his family’s specialty coffee business in The Netherlands. In 1999, Willem founded Boot Coffee and developed a diverse portfolio of quality improvement and marketing services for the specialty coffee industry. Between 2007 and 2017, Willem co-founded award winning coffee farms in Panama and Ethiopia. He is an accredited trainer for the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI).
Willem is a also highly experienced consultant; from supporting startup companies to coaching expanding coffee businesses.
