This course is specifically designed for coffee professionals who seek expert training from renowned industry specialists. Trainers are two industry veterans: Kees Kraakman, SCAE certified instructor and Willem Boot, SCAA certified instructor and also producer of his award winning La Mula Geisha coffee. The course provides solid hands-on training into roasting, tasting and quality protocols, from a theoretical as well as from a practical point of view. Advanced Course for Professionals
Take your coffee skills to the next level. COFFEE LAB PRO is our advanced course for coffee professionals. COFFEE LAB PRO immerses you in a series of hands-on training exercises. Among others, this is what you’ll learn:
• Refine your tasting vocabulary
• Identify flavor profiles through blind coffee tasting
• Improve your skills to select and purchase green coffee
• Analyze fundamentals of heat transfer and roasting dynamics
• Create roasting profiles and analyze the results
• Develop roasting strategies for optimum flavor
• How do varieties, growing conditions and processing styles impact quality
On the final day you have the option to take the SCAE Intermediate Roasting exam.

PRIMER Course
To prepare for COFFEE LAB PRO, you can sign up for the 1-day SCAE ROASTING FOUNDATION course which will allow you to refresh your coffee know-how and learn about elementary techniques of cupping and roasting through a series of lectures and exercises. During the FOUNDATION course we’ll cover the topics of the SCAE Roasting foundation level.
Among others we will review how heat transfer impacts flavor, sensory milestones which help you to assess your roast, the benefit of logging your roast for optimum flavor profiles.
At the end of the day you’ll be examinated according to the SCAE Roasting Foundation level. Upon passing, you can purchase the optional certificate.
